A FUN day raised enough money for residents to buy their own chickens.
People at the Woodreddon House residential home for people with learning disabilities in Upshire staged a choir concert during the event on Friday, which also included sessions from coaches at Tottenham Hotspur football club and various games.
The centre’s manager, Theresa Cairns, said: “The choir was lovely. They’ve been together for about 18 months and we had people from other centres come and join in.
“We raised about £260, so we now have £500 altogether for two hen houses with six hens in each.
“I think many residents will get involved. It’s something that can be a big group activity or something for small groups collecting eggs.”
