A NIGHTSPOT has been shut down following a string of violent incidents.
The closure of the E10 Club in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, comes after at least one stabbing, brawl and shooting at or near the venue in the past year.
Most recently, in the early hours of Monday July 25 a 15-year-old boy suffered serious head injuries during a fight inside the building. A 17-year-old also suffered minor wounds.
While on Wednesday June 1, a group of men who had just left the club at around 2am were attacked in nearby Hitcham Road.
An 18-year-old man was stabbed in the back, chest and arm, while two others were beaten with a baseball bat.
And in August last year partygoers at the venue fled in fear when a man opened fire outside.
No-one was shot, but one stray bullet hit a baby's pram, narrowly missing a young infant according to witnesses.
The council suspended the venue's alcohol licence on July 29, and it was shut down for good after a review on Wednesday August 3.
Bailiffs, acting on the instructions of the landowners, secured the site while officers from the Lea Bridge Safer Neighbourhoods Team carried out extra patrols.
A Met spokesman said: "The team would like to thank the local community and the police licensing officer for their co-operation."
