A MUSIC student from Woodford Green is all set to make an appearance at this year’s Proms.

Former Woodbridge High student Jocasta Roper, 24, is currently studying for a music degree at the London College of Music.

She sings with the Philharmonia choir which is scheduled to appear at the Proms alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the BBC singers.

World famous cellist Yo-Yo Ma will also feature in the concert on August 31.

Jocasta of Snakes Lane East, Woodford Green is no stranger to the Royal Albert Hall – her performs a Christmas programme there every year.

But she admitted singing at the Proms would be special.

And she added: “I’m really excited to have the chance to perform with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.”
