A BANKER raised more than £800 for a bowel cancer charity after her father recovered from the disease.
Gemma Williams, 30, of Roding View, Buckhurst Hill, completed the Great London Swim in aid of the charity Bowel and Cancer Research.
She said: “It was a brilliant atmosphere. It gives you such a high when everyone is cheering and clapping at the end.”
She said she was pleased to break her £500 fundraising target. “People have been very generous,” she added.
Her father, Dave McEwen, who recovered from bowel cancer last year, was there to cheer her on, with her mother Jan.
