POLICE are appealing for witnesses four months after two girls were sexually assaulted within the space of two days.
A 16-year-old was attacked as she entered a park off Larkshall Road, Chingford, with her older sister just before 1pm on April 20.
She was grabbed from behind by a man who then tried to molest her.
She managed to struggle free and the attacker ran in the direction of Ropers Avenue, near Oakdale Gardens He was described as south Asian, 5ft 8ins, around 30 years old with black fluffy hair and average build.
The attacker was wearing a distinctive white shirt with a black dragon print on the front lower left side.
He was also carrying a black and yellow string bag. A 16-year-old girl was attacked two days later as she walked in a wooded area which backs on to Oakdale Court in Oakdale Gardens at 5pm.
She was approached by a man who tried to rip her clothes off, but two passers-by intervened and he ran off.
He was described as south Asian, aged between 20 and 30, with black hair, long sideburns and a goatee beard.
The attacker was wearing a pink t-shirt, three-quater length beige trousers and white trainers.
Police do not believe the two incidents are linked. Anyone with information on either attack is asked to call Detective Constable Abby Devgon from Waltham Forest CID on 0203 276 0930, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
