CABBAGES measuring a foot across and massive marrows were on display at a summer show on Saturday.

The Coopersale Horticultural Society show also featured other garden vegetables, as well as fruit, flowers, cacti, cakes, photographs and illustrated poems by children from Coopersale and Theydon Garnon Primary School.

Children also entered vegetable print pictures, junk models, paintings and collage into the show, which took place at Coopersale Village Hall in Institute Road.

One of the organisers, Gillian Baker, said: “Entries in the flower arranging section were down on last year due to holidays and illness, but otherwise the show went very well.

“There were many visitors and people had an enjoyable day.”
