Derbyshire duo David Gibb and Elly Lucas headline Loughton Folk Club this Thursday (August 18).

They play a mix of original and traditional pieces and were finalists in this year's BBC Young Folk Awards.

It costs £3 and is from 8pm.

Classic rock act Airforce play the Standard Music Venue in Walthamstow this Saturday (August 20).

Doors to the club, in Blackhorse Lane, open around 8pm and entry is £7.

Waltham Abbey Folk Club has a Singaround jam night on Monday (August 22). It starts at their venue at the Royal British Legion HQ in Brooker Road at 8.30pm. Entry is £1.50p.

Acoustic pair Mike Delpeache and Harry O'Sullivan perform at the Luna Lounge in Church Lane, Leytonstone, on Saturday (August 20).

They play a mix of covers including everything from Van Morrison to the Temptations, along with some of their own compositions.

It starts at 8pm and is free.

Then on Sunday (August 21) the Keen/Osgerby Trio take to the stage. These guys, who are also members of the soul band The Fabulations, have been playing together since 1968 and are known for their diverse-sounding original funky jazz tunes.

Doors open at 7.30pm and it costs £5 on the door.

Noisy Essex band Dead Tracks play the Square in Harlow on Thursday (August 18).

Support comes from Year Book and Drive.

It's from 8pm and costs £4, or is free for members. Over 16s only.

The venue, in Fourth Avenue, also hosts a blues jam on Sunday (August 21). Full backline provided. It starts at 8pm.

And finally, Chingford Assembly Hall plays host to an Elvis tribute night on Friday (August 19).

It starts at 7.30pm. However tickets, which cost £15, have been selling fast. Call 020 8505 9274 or 07930 544312 to check availability.

It's at the venue in Station Road, Chingford and is hosted by promoter “Freddy Boy”.
