THE fight to preserve one of the area’s best loved beauty spots is about to receive a boost from conservationists.
The Lakehouse lake project will be staging a fun day on the banks of Jubilee Pond in Wanstead Flats on Sunday, September 4.
Children will be invited to explore the large variety of flora and fauna with a spot of pond-dipping, have their faces painted and take part in a series of games and competitions.
There will be live music, a barbecue, and a book stall, and visitors will also have the opportunity to find out more about the Lakehouse Lake Project along with other historical and conservation groups.
The event is due to run from 1pm to 5pm.
