BUSINESSES in Redbridge have been invited to apply for a share of a £50,000 fund to help them back on their feet following the riots.
The High St Heroes Fund has been launched on Twitter by the charity Retail Trust.
Retail Trust CEO Nigel J L Rothband said: “The story that doesn't always come through is the deeper impact on those affected below the surface, emotionally, but also practically in terms of how everyday life needs to continue.”
The fund is being added to by fundraisers.
Keith Brown, of the Essex Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), said: “Any assistance that is available to help small businesses start trading again as quickly as possible is very welcome and we would encourage Redbridge businesses to check out any such scheme to see how it suits their needs.
Shop and business owners who wish to apply to the fund can call the helpline number 0808 801 0808.
Donations to the fund can be made at www.retailtrust.org.uk
