PARENTS can begin to apply for children’s 2012 school places from next month.
The council are encouraging families to apply for places online from September 1 after 54 per cent of reception applications and 48 per cent of secondary school applications were made using its website last year.
All online applicants will receive an email notification that their submission has been received and, eventually, what the outcome is, while proof of residence documents can be scanned and attached to the application.
All online secondary school applications must be made by October 31 2011, while online primary school applications must be completed by January 15 2012.
Parents who have submitted secondary school applications online will find out what school they have got on March 1 2012 and parents of children going to primary school will find out on April 18.
