THREE men were attacked by a gang leaving one seriously injured on Friday night.

At about 11.45pm on August 19, police were called with reports of men being assaulted in Hervey Park Road, Walthamstow, near the junction with Forest Road.

Police officers and paramedics attended the scene.

A 33-year-old man was taken to a north-east London hospital with head injuries where he remains in a serious condition. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The man is believed to have been struck on the head with a glass bottle.

One victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene while the third was uninjured.

Ilayesaran Kanthasamy, 19, of Melbourne Road, Walthamstow; Stephen Jamie Joydon, 30, of Stoney Stanton Road, Coventry; Ashokkumar Kathiravelu, 30, of Sherwood Close, Walthamstow; Vijayaasin Ajanthan, 26, of Burnaby Road, Coventry; Ishan Fernando, 24, of Brookdale Road, Walthamstow and Kakan Karunakaran, 25, of Edison Close, Walthamstow were arrested.

They have all been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, violent disorder and two count of causing actual bodily harm.

All six will appear at Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court on Monday, August 22.
