PEOPLE of all ages are invited to join a walk in celebration of the reopening of a popular footpath, which was blocked for over two decades.
On Monday, August 29, the Nazeing Footpaths Group will be walking the path from Green Lane, Nazeing, to Nazeing Road.
The path was blocked for 25 years because planning permission was granted for a wall to be built across it and no alternative route was provided.
After years of campaigning by the Nazeing Footpaths Group, Essex County Council recently negotiated an alternative route.
Walkers are meeting at Clayton Hill Car Park, Nazeing, at 11am on Monday, August 29.
The walk is about 4 miles long and those interested in attending are asked to wear stout footwear.
There will be a barbeque on the way and the day costs £2.50 per person.
