AN AWARD-WINNING dance group will help commemorate the abolition of slavery.
Hip hop team Unity Dance, who won the dance IDO World Championships in Germany in 2008, will join poets and musicians to remember the date slavery ended tomorrow evening (August 23).
The event, which will take place at Walthamstow Assembly Hall, in Forest Road, Walthamstow, will be presented by Lisa Bent, who host’s television programme Rollin’, a film review and entertainment show.
Saxophonist and Mobo and Urban Awards Winner, YolanDa Brown, will also appear.
Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Tickets for free admission are available from Waltham Forest Direct shops at the following locations: 265 Chingford Mount Road, Chingford, 137 Hoe Street, Walthamstow, 819 High Road, Leytonstone.
