ON the day a flood warning encompassing the whole of London was issued, a company is speaking to the public about their proposals to reduce the flood risk from the River Roding.
The Environment Agency is holding a public exhibition today to discuss their plans to introduce two pumping stations and two flood storage areas to combat flooding from the river.
The Met Office also gave a London-wide flood warning today, while the Environment Agency has warned people to be prepared for tributaries of the River Lee to flood, including Nazeing Brook, Ching Brook and Cobbins Brook in Epping and North Weald.
Its exhibition, at Broadmead Baptist Church, in Chigwell Road, Woodford Green, will be open for people to examine and discuss its proposals, which have been criticised by Chigwell Road shopkeepers for not including short-term measures.
The plans are unlikely to be completed for two to three years.
Bridge ward councillors Cllr Paul Canal, Cllr John Fairley-Churchill and Cllr Robin Turbefield will attend the exhibition, which will take place between 11am and 9pm. The councillors will be present between 12.45pm and 1.30pm.
