THE Olympics and east London were the theme for a day of sport, dance and crafts aimed at getting children excited about the Games.
The event, which took place at the Metropolitan Police Sports Club in Chigwell High Road on Thursday, was organised by Epping Forest Arts as part of its programme of summer holiday entertainments.
One of the organisers, Vanessa Gayton, said: “The wet weather didn’t dampen anybody’s spirits.
“We had pearly kings and queens’ hat making and a Cockney school, which taught you how to speak Cockney.
“We had races inside and it was very London 2012-themed. We even had red, white and blue bunting.”
