CHRISTMAS came early disabled people staying at a care home this week.
Guests at Jubilee Lodge in the High Road, Chigwell, awoke this morning (August 24), to Santa Claus handing out presents by the Christmas tree, all while the summer sun shone outside.
At lunch turkey was served and afterwards there were games and music from a skiffle band.
Jubilee Lodge provides holidays for disabled people, providing full care and a range of activities during their time there.
This year staff at the centre decided to provide Christmas early for those unable to visit for the real thing on December 25.
Centre Manager Steve Trump said: “Some of our guests do not have an opportunity to get away over Christmas and others were drawn because it is a bit quirky.
“For some it will be the only Christmas they have, as many live on their own and social services don’t do much to mark the festive season for them.”
