A BOA constrictor returned to a couple’s garden shed after first scaring them last week.

The 10ft khaki-coloured snake was spotted hanging from the ceiling of the shed by Howard Waxler on Wednesday August 24.

His wife Ros had first been petrified by the serpent last Friday, when she found it curled up on a shelf while she was gardening at her home in Strafford Avenue, Barkingside.

After shakily calling the RSPCA to collect the animal, Mrs Waxler witnessed it slip through a hole in the shed to escape the clutches of the animal charity’s officer.

He initially told the fearful couple that the beast, which is thought to be a tame pet, had gone to return home, but at 3pm on Wednesday it had come back to its new lair.

This time though, it was captured by the RSPCA.

An officer turned up at 4.30pm to cover a container the creature had lay in with a towel, before moving the snake into a separate bag.
