A COMMUNITY fun day held to celebrate the cultural diversity of Waltham Forest has been hailed a great success.

Organised by the Sybourn Children's Centre in Perth Road, Leyton, the event on Wednesday, August 24, featured a variety of food, music and entertainment for more than 100 people.

Frank Charles, an outreach worker at the centre, said: "It went very well. We had a bouncy castle, children's entertainer, lots of music, it was great fun.

"It really showed the positive side of the borough and the mix of cultures, and it seemed everyone who came thoroughly enjoyed themselves."
