VOLUNTEERS are being urged to join a night-time walk in aid of a local hospice.
The Starlight Walk will be held in Loughton on September 24, starting from Trapps Hill car park at 8pm.
Last year, the event raised £13,500 for St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood and this year organisers hope to reach a target of at least £15,000.
Tracey Stratford, the hospice’s events fundraiser, said: “We want to make it for everyone. Five miles at night is going to be tiring and there are a few nice hills in Loughton and Buckhurst Hill to conquer and some people will still find it a challenge.
“Last year, there were groups of friends or families doing it, either in memory of someone they know who died at the hospice or friends who just fancied a good night out.
“Companies also did it together as a team-building exercise.”
To register for the walk, visit the hospice’s website, www.stclarehospice.org.uk or call 01279 773750.
