A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder two police officers during the rioting earlier this month.
The officers were run over by a green Citroen in Royston Avenue, Chingford, while they were dealing with reports of looting at Aristocrats clothes shop in Chingford Mount Road at about 1am on August 8.
Both officers are Pcs based at Paddington Green police station in central London.
One suffered knee injuries and the other was hurt in the shoulder.
A 28-year-old man was arrested today (Sunday) on suspicion of attempted murder and is being held at a north east London police station.
A 31-year-old man has already been arrested over the incident and bailed to return to police in September.
