MONKHAMS ward has the fewest number of unemployed people claiming benefits in the borough.
Just 1.2 per cent of the area’s residents claim Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA), closely followed by Snaresbrook with 2.2 per cent and Wanstead with 2.5 per cent.
The three areas are well below Redbridge borough’s average of 4.3 per cent, show figures released by the Office for National Statistics.
Church End is also below the average with 2.9 per cent, which equates to 202 people.
But the percentage jumps to 5.3 per cent in Seven Kings and 6.6 per cent in Loxford.
Wanstead leads the borough in the number of people currently employed, which totals 5,561, or 74 per cent, while Snaresbrook, with 75 per cent, has the highest ratio in employment.
Clementswood, with 54.9 per cent or 3,948 people employed, has the lowest number and ratio of residents who are working.
