A CAT that is down to eight lives after escaping from the window of a fourth storey flat has been reunited with its owners.

Basil, who is four years old, leapt 20 feet from the window of a flat in Malcolm Way, Snaresbrook on August 15.

When owners James Arben, 32, and Hannah, 33, returned from their honeymoon they were distraught to discover the tabby missing.

But this morning the couple were reunited with Basil after a resident spotted her in his garden in Wanstead near where she went missing.

Mrs Arben said: “He is not looking too bad considering how long he has been missing for. We will certainly be keeping all of the windows locked from now on though.”
