GOLFERS raised more than £20,000 for charities at an event yesterday (Thursday).

The tournament at Chigwell Golf Club in the High Road was held in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, as well as sports charity Wooden Spoon and Help for Heroes.

More than 100 people took part and guests included sporting impressionist and comedian Aaron James.

James Fuller, the club’s general manager, said: “It was a beautiful day and 121 points won it.

“The Teenage Cancer Trust was the headlining charity and we also raised money for the chairman’s charities.”
