A TEENAGER raised over £1,000 to make disabled children’s dreams come true.
Joshua Mills, 14, organised a charity golf event that raised £1,120 for his mother Avril’s charity The Dream Factory yesterday.
The charity strives to make wishes come true for severely disabled children and kids with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions.
The cash raised by Joshua at the tournament at Epping Golf Course, in Fluxs Lane, Epping, means that two children’s dreams can be granted.
Joshua said: “It was a really good day. It’s the second time I’ve done it and we managed to double what we raised last year.”
“I gave a trophy to the winner of the overall day in memory of my brother [Oliver, who died 11 years ago from leukaemia].”
He roped in friends and veteran club members to bring in 40 players for the event.
The dreams that can now be made true include one where the child will travel into London in a limousine.
Joshua will now concentrate on his GCSEs, but more fundraising events are coming up, with a James Bond-themed casino night at Woolston Manor in Chigwell on October 7.
Anyone who wishes to book their place can call The Dream Factory on 020 8501 1234.
