REDBRIDGE Council is set to donate £30,000 to a London fund for traders affected by the riots.
The authority will donate the money - subject to cabinet approval - along with other councils to a £3m London High Street Recovery Fund set up by Mayor Boris Johnson to reimburse businesses damaged in the riots that engulfed the city in early August.
Shops in Woodford Green and South Woodford were hit by chaos and violence after rioting spread from Ilford town centre on August 8.
Woodford Carpet Shop, in High Road, Woodford Green, was torched after rioters hit the town after spreading from Ilford, before looting Richard Miles jewellers in George Lane, South Woodford, and smashing the windows of Nationwide bank, on the same street.
The cabinet will meet on Tuesday, September 6 to make a decision but they are recommended to agree to grant the funding.
