LARGE numbers paid their final farewells to legendary Waltham Forest boxer Derek "The Punching Postman" Lloyd at his funeral.
Mr Lloyd, who died aged 75 earlier this month after contracting pneumonia, was a former British Flyweight Champion and well-known member of the Waltham Forest Amateur Boxing Club in Chingford.
His funeral was held at the City of London Cemetery and Crematorium in Manor Park yesterday (Friday)
Floral tributes included a giant pair of boxing gloves.
A wake was held after the service at the Kings Ford pub in Chingford Mount Road, where a write up and picture detailing Mr Lloyd's boxing achievements still adorns the walls.
