A BEER has been created to celebrate the second anniversary of an environmental group.
Transition Leytonstone and Leyton brewer Brodie’s have teamed up to create an organic beer to compliment the group’s aim of promoting sustainable living.
Named The Transition Ale, the beer will be launched at the group’s anniversary celebration at Pastures Youth Centre in Davies Lane, Leytonstone on Saturday, September 24.
The A Lark In the Pastures event, which starts at 2pm, will also feature bag making, seed sowing, face painting, a barbecue and the opportunity to take part in a circus workshop with members of Cirque Nova.
Diana Korchien, of the Tranisiton team, said: “Transition is a grass-roots movement which aims to strengthen local communities by making them more interconnected and self-reliant.
“In this period of economic uncertainty one of our goals is to support local businesses, so I was really delighted that Brodie’s took up the gauntlet.”
