ORGANISERS of the E17 Art Trail say this year's event is experiencing a record-breaking number of visitors.
The festival, which kicked off at the weekend and concludes this Sunday (September 11), is the biggest yet featuring more than 300 exhibits and installations at 160 venues across the Walthamstow area.
Now in its seventh year, it incorporates a film festival and poetry trail, along with displays for children.
Organisers have also been expanding its reach in cyberspace. For the first time visitors can download a free 'app' for their iPhone or Android mobile phones to guide them to the exhibits.
Co-founder and trail coordinator Laura Kerry said she was delighted at how things had gone so far.
She said: “Record numbers of visitors are being reported by venues all over Walthamstow from just the first weekend.
“There is an energy and excitement about the town”.
