THERE will be a total of 65 official street parties for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in Redbridge.
Twelve other boroughs will see more street parties on the long weekend of June 2 -5, according to figures published by BBC London.
Area Committees across Redbridge have set aside funding for residents associations and community groups to hold parties and waived road closure fees for residents who applied before the April 20 deadline.
But the council is not releasing the list of roads which will be closed yet.
According to BBC London’s figures there have been a total of 1,768 applications for road closures by Londoners wanting street parties.
Wandsworth will see the most with 164, while Barking and Dagenham has approved the fewest with just five road closures.
