AN application to use a rugby club as a campsite for Olympics staff has been re-submitted.
Eton Manor in Nutter Lane, Wanstead, hope to accommodate 250 tents to generate funds for community sport facilities after the games.
A previous application for the site was deemed invalid due to a lack of information.
Club spokesman Gary Davies said the club is confident the plans will be approved by the council.
He added: "We are told that there is enough time for approval to be given before the Olympics start.
"We are quite convinced that the council is keen to support a community sport's facility."
The club plans to reinvest the money back into the club.
"Community sports is a real hand to mouth existence. We survive by the beer we sell our customers in the club house.
"We aren't looking for a late licence like Bancroft Rugby Club. Our site is purely for Gamesmakers and their families to stay."
Campers will be able to benefit from full use of the club house and it's facilities and the site will be manned by at least four security guards at all times.
The venue is already being advertised as an Olympic and Paralympic campsite.
