A TRIAL of two men accused of shooting a businessman in front of his mother starts today.
Romaine Arthur, 22, of Hazel Way in Chingford have pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to murder and perverting the course of justice after James Bryant, 24, was gunned down in the Cakes and Shakes shop in High Road, Woodford Green.
Temidire Owolabi, 21, of Brandon Close in Chafford Hundred in Essex, also denies attempted murder and possessing weapons with intent to endanger life.
Mr Bryant survived the attack in November last year.
The trial begins at the Old Bailey today but has been delayed until 2pm, though it is not yet clear why.
