A BURGLAR who threatened a man and woman with a knife has been jailed for six years.
Mohammed Shabaz Mughal, 26, also pretended he was armed with a gun after breaking into the home in Borthwick Road, Leytonstone in September last year.
Mughal, of Hale End Road in Woodford Green, forced the 43-year-old man and 27-year-old woman into giving him jewellery, mobile phones and a laptop.
His victims identified him from a photo on the police database.
He was arrested in January pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary at Snaresbrook Crown Court earlier this month.
Investigating officer Detective Inspector David Spencer said: "The victims in the case were sitting in the comfort of their own home watching television when their home was violated by Mughal.
"The defendant received a six year custodial sentence and hopefully this will serve as a deterrent to any other like-minded individuals."
