POLICE have released a picture of a man they want to trace after a teenager was groped on a train.
The 18-year-old from Ongar was on a train between Brentford and Shenfield when she noticed a man staring at her.
When she and the man changed trains at Shenfield, she felt him touch her on the leg.
Detective Constable Alan Reed of the British Transport Police, said: “The victim boarded a train at Brentwood at around 8.50am.
“Throughout the journey, she noticed a man, who was already on the train when she boarded, staring at her, which made her feel extremely uncomfortable.
“While on the second train, she felt him touch her inappropriately on the leg.
“This must have been a very frightening experience for the victim, who felt she was being followed.
“Incidents like this are very rare on the rail network but we treat them very seriously.”
Police have spoken to commuters along the route several times since the incident on March 14.
Anyone with information should call the British Transport Police on 0800 405040 quoting reference B5/LNA of May 3.
