THIEVES attacked a man as they robbed a pub yesterday.
The employee at the Wheatsheaf in Waltham Abbey suffered a cut to his hand as the two men threatened staff and customers at knifepoint on Friday, May 11.
The criminals escaped with a “four-figure sum” from the till of the pub in Crooked Mile, said police, but it is not yet clear how much money was stolen.
Nine customers had knives pointed at them by the thieves, who stole three mobile phones from the frightened people before running away within two minutes of their arrival shortly after 11pm.
The men were described as being aged in their 20s, both wearing black hooded tops, black jogging bottoms and black trainers.
One man was black, well built and about six foot tall. The other was white, of slim build and about five foot ten inches tall.
DS Michael Orr appealed for witnesses and said the pair were believed to have been pacing up and down the road outside the pub for half an hour before rushing in.
Anyone with information should contact DS Orr at the Harlow Target Offender Team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
