A BARMAN who was injured when armed robbers burst into a pub at closing time has returned to his job.
The masked men threatened staff and customers at the Wheatsheaf in the Crooked Mile, Waltham Abbey, on Friday night, before forcing their way into the back office and stealing cash.
Heydon Mizon, retail operations director for the pub’s brewery, McMullen’s, said: “Unfortunately, one member of staff was hurt during the struggle.
“I am pleased to say, despite requiring stitches to his hand, he is now back at work.”
Nine customers had knives pointed at them by the robbers, who also stole three mobile phones before running away just after 11pm.
The men were described as being in their 20s, both wearing black tracksuits and trainers.
One was black, well-built and about 6ft, while the other was white, slim and about 5ft 10ins.
Witnesses or anyone with information should call Detective Sergeant Michael Orr at the Harlow Target Offender Team on 101.
