A MAN has been charged with burglary at a village church after being stopped by police for not wearing a seatbelt.
Officers stopped the 45-year-old from Chelmsford in the town and have now charged him with the burglary at St Andrew’s church in Willingale, near Ongar, between February 24 and March 1.
A wooden chest and iron key were taken in the break-in.
He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on June 6, charged with the burglary and being in possession of a class B drug.
