WORKERS at a troubled greetings card chain will have to wait at least until Friday to find out if their jobs are safe.
Administrators drafted in to manage Clinton Cards after its main supplier called in £35million of debt have announced that 350 out of its 784 stores will close.
There are Clinton Cards branches in Epping, where company chairman Don Lewin first set up shop, Loughton, Chingford and Walthamstow and the company’s headquarters are in Langston Road, Debden.
A spokesman for administrators Zolfo Cooper said the locations of closing shops will not be revealed before Friday (May 18).
“The stores in question are located throughout the country and employ approximately 2,800 full-time and part-time staff,” he added.
“They include all stores branded as Birthdays and approximately 200 Clinton Cards branded stores.”
