BANKERS spruced up a school’s playground in return for donations to a children’s charity today (Friday).

The workers from Lloyds TSB in Loughton High Road painted the fence of a playground at The White Bridge Infant School in Greensted Road, Loughton, as well as planting new shrubs.

In return, the school held a sponsored non-uniform day, which raised about £200 towards a project organised by Save the Children to help disadvantaged parents and children in the UK, which the bank is raising money for.

Headteacher Julie Witteridge, said: “They’ve uplifted the resources we had there for the children.

“The children were fascinated all day, asking what they were doing. They’ll be very excited to use it when the wet paint has dried.”
