STAFF from a school completed a moonlit marathon to raise money for charity.
The seven women, who all work at Forest School in College Place, Snaresbrook, were taking part in a Moonwalk to help ‘Walk the Walk’, a charity dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer.
They set off from Hyde Park at midnight with 17,000 other walkers, taking in sights including Buckingham Palace and the London Eye.
The team, which included the school’s librarian, receptionist and head of French, completed the walk in eight hours and raised around £3,500.
The women have been walking up to 10 miles three times a week since February to train for the event.
And they were elated, if a little sleepy, after completing the walk.
Sandy Nicholls, the headteacher's PA, said: “We completed the course as the sun rose on Sunday morning.
“It is an incredible experience and truly inspirational with all money raised going towards breast cancer research”.
