A man has died after being stabbed.

The victim, in his 30s, died in the arms of paramedics as they tried to save him in Walthamstow at around 5pm yesterday.

Next of kin have been informed but the victim has not been formally identified.

A post-mortem is due to take place today.

A police officer patrolling Ulverston Road, near the junction with Forest Road, was approached by the man, who was bleeding from stab wounds at 5pm.

The officer immediately applied first aid and called in paramedics and an air ambulance but the victim died at the scene. <</p>

No arrests have been made.
