A MEETING has been organised for Wanstead traders to share ideas on how to encourage shoppers back to the High Street.
Rachel Root, owner of The Orange Tree, High Street, Wanstead has invited local independent retailers to a meeting at Nice Croissant on High Street, Wanstead, on Thursday (May 24) at 6pm.
She said: "This is not a meeting to discuss all the doom and gloom, but getting together some good ideas on how to get people shopping local again."
Following the opening Westfield's Stratford City shopping centre in September, retailers in Wanstead have noticed a dip in trade and want to encourage shoppers back to the High Street.
In December a smart-phone app was launched so shoppers could gain instant updates on Wanstead High Street bargains.
The app, designed to encourage shoppers back to the High Street, is free to download from wansteadvillageapp.co.uk.
