FAMILIES learnt to hoist sail at an open day at a sailing club.
Broxbourne Sailing Club, which is based in Meadgate Road, Nazeing, opened their doors to anyone who wanted to take a trip out on to their lagoon on Saturday, May 19.
Children were shown by instructors how to control a vessel and trips were made out on to the waters in a range of the club’s sailing boats.
Club membership secretary Hazel Town said: “We had lots of people along and they loved it.
“Some of the children who tried the sailing were very confident and were really very good.
“It is great that so many people took an interest in our club, sailing is a wonderful pastime and being out there on the water can really help you to forget the stresses of life.”
