BORIS Johnson's decision on the future of Walthamstow Stadium has been delayed.

Councillors approved a plan to build a 294 homes on site in Chingford Road, Chingford, but must refer the plans to the Mayor of London for final approval due to the size of the development.

Mr Johnson was set to make a decision this week, but City Hall said it is still waiting for paperwork from Waltham Forest Council.

He can either "call in" the application for further consideration or decline to challenge the council's decision.

Mr Johnson recently said he was "increasingly concerned" about the viability of the scheme and has called on owners London & Quadrant to talk to businessman Bob Morton, who has offered to purchase the site and reintroduce greyhound racing.
