CLASSIC cars, ferret racing and a falconry display will all feature at a village weekend.

Abridge's Village Weekend takes place on Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24.

More than 60 stalls will be at the craft fair on the Saturday at Abridge Village Hall, Ongar Road.

There will also be an antiques and collectors fair and a farmers market along with various food stalls, licensed bar and other refreshments.

A carnival parade will take place on the Sunday.

It will leave the Pancroft Park at 1pm arriving at the village hall field at about 1.30pm.

Children will get the chance to take part in a fancy dress competition, which will be judged after the carnival.

Entertainment will feature two displays of Lurcher racing, a falconry display with 15 birds of prey, the Super Brass New Orleans Marching Jazz Band, the Air Force Cadet Band, majorettes and ferret racing.

There will also be various stalls, sideshows, bouncy castles, a mini funfair and refreshments.

Admission is £2.50 on the Saturday and £3 on the Sunday for adults, with children under-16 going free.
