BOUNCY castles and a police helicopter will be among the attractions at a fete to raise money for a paralysed teenager.
The fete will be held from noon on Saturday (May 26) at the Metropolitan Police Sports Club in Chigwell High Road, in aid of a holiday for 17-year-old Rachel Todd, who suffers from locked-in syndrome.
Dean Manister, a friend of Rachel’s father Gordon, has raised enough for a motorised wheelchair for her, which she will be presented with at the fete.
“I’ve raised as much as I can to buy an adaptable mobility vehicle for Rachel to go out and do normal things you and I can do every day,” he said.
“We’re now trying to get enough for Rachel to go on holiday, which isn’t that simple, as she needs four or five carers.”
