FLOWER arrangers celebrated their club’s 50th anniversary with golden blooms at a dinner and demonstration.
Professional florist Derek Armstrong, who has an exhibit at the Chelsea Flower Show, demonstrated his skills to members of the Chigwell Floral Art Club during the event.
Club chairwoman Pam Beasley, who has been a member for seven years, said: “His flowers were out of this world.
“He did a beautiful summer hat in flowers and a flag, which was great.
“On the tables, we had gold orchids and all the committee members had corsages with the same flowers.”
During her speech as chairwoman, she paid tribute to one of the club’s founding members, Renee Wheeler, who died earlier this year.
The club meets on the third Thursday of the month at Victory Hall, Hainault Road, Chigwell from 1.30 p.m.
