SUPERHEROES flew to a children's hospice this morning.

TV crews broadcast live from Haven House Children's Hospice, in Woodford Green, early this morning as part of ITV Daybreak's Superhero Friday feature on children's hospices from across the UK.

Despite the early start, there was a real party atmosphere as children and staff dressed up as their favourite superheroes and children's entertainers provided loads of fun.

Gethin Jones presented live from the grounds of the hospice dressed as Batman and other local celebrities were also there, including Gary Lucy, Vicki Michelle, Johnny from the X Factor, celebrity trainer Kevin Adams and Ray Winstone.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House said: "This was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our local hospice to the nation.

"Everyone had a great day and the children and families were delighted to be able to talk to Gethin about our vital work here and what our hospice means to them."

Daybreak have been running the feature all week to highlight the vital service children's hospices provide to children and their families.

Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for children and young people who have life-limiting conditions and who are unlikely to reach adulthood.
