Mayor of Waltham Forest Richard Sweden
A NEW mayor was elected by Waltham Forest Council last night.
Labour councillor Richard Sweden was sworn in during a meeting of full council last night.
Cllr Sweden, who represents Wood Street ward, will choose a charity to raise money for as the borough's first citizen.
He is a member of Waltham Forest Arts Council, the Walthamstow Air Training Corps and is a member of the Outer North-East London Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee as well as other scrutiny committees.
Cllr Sweden replaces outgoing mayor Geoff Walker, who helped raise thousands of pounds for Haven House Children's Hospice in High Road, Woodford Green.
