EPPING Forest MP Eleanor Laing was among those taking part in one of the district’s first Jubilee street parties.
Traffic was banished from Queen’s Road in Buckhurst Hill which was decorated with red, white and blue, while a steel band, stiltwalker, doggy fashion show and market stalls were among the attractions.
Mrs Laing said: “I have never seen so many people in Queen’s Road.
“It was great to see everyone coming together in celebratory mood.
“Congratulations must go to the parish council and the working group for organising the event, to the children who took part in the drawing competition, and to the many shops and businesses which decorated their windows.
“It is a shame that we cannot have jubilee celebrations every year.”
