A STREET in a part of Redbridge judged to be one of the unhappiest in the country is throwing a Jubilee party to challenge preconceptions.
Families in Prospect Road, Woodford Green, have got together to organise the celebration on Monday.
A recent survey by property website Right Move found people living in the IG8 postcode were among the ten most unhappy in the UK.
But party organisers insist the results of the research are flawed.
Head of the Street Party Planning Committee, Andrea St Hill, said: "The way everyone in Prospect Road has come together to make this street party possible has been fantastic, and shows how wrong February's survey was to label IG8 as 'unfriendly' and 'lacking a sense of community'.
"So many of the neighbours have given their time already and now we are looking forward to celebrating the Jubilee together as neighbours and friends."
Activities on the day range vastly from treasure hunts, sack races, big lunches, bake offs and live music.
The event starts at 1pm and runs until late.
